Josue also spelled as Joshua. It is also pronounced as JOSH-yoo-ah. It is basically a Hebrew origin, which means "Jehovah is salvation". Josue is basically a Spanish form. The 8 variant forms are Josh, Joshuah, Joss, Josua, Josue, Joushua, Jozua and Yehoshua.

It refers to name of eight people in the Old Testament and also of one of the sacred books. First it is the name of ruler of Jerusalem whose idolatrous altars were shattered by King Josias, all through the latter's attempts to loosen the sin shaped by his father Amon and grandfather Manasses. It also stands as a name of a head of the relations of Phahath Moab, one of the families named in the inventory of Israelites that returned from the Babylonian Exile, to name a few.
