Mestizo is an individual of mixed racial origin. It is a term for a person of European and indigenous South American descent. To be more particular this term describes someone of mixed Spanish and Indian ethnicity. They are a combination of European, Indian, and African habits in Latin America. They have also known as ladinos or cholos in different places and times. Mestizo is the Spanish for "of mixed blood".

Majority of the population in Columbia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay and Venezuela are made up of Mestizos. This word also has a cultural label in Mexico and Peru and refers to the way they live or their traditional ways of life including their clothing, customs and indigenous language. Mestiza is the feminine form of Mestizo.
