Solon may mean two things. First it may allude to the name of the renowned lawmaker Solon from Athens in Greece. He was also a Lyric poet of great repute. His father was Execestides. He was hailed as one of the Seven Wise Men of Greece. He first came in to the limelight when he urged the people of Athens to fight for a nearby island Salamis. Athens took his advice and emerged victorious. Thereafter Solon was hailed as an Athenian hero.

On the other hand, Solon may pertain to some kind of respected statesman or some kind of skilled legislator.

There are also many places called Solon all across the American continent. There is a Solon in Michigan, in Wisconsin, in Bailey, in New York and even one in the state of Ohio.
