CTR is an abbreviation which stands for click-through ratio. Click-through ratio is the ratio which is calculated by dividing the number of times an advertisement is clicked by the number of times the advertisement is viewed.

It is known as the click-through rate. It is defined as the metrics used in measuring the effectiveness of advertising banners and similar media used for advertising. The percentage of advertisement views results in an advertisement click, which is also known as an ad click.

CTR is a method of rating how many times a banner has been clicked on. The formula to calculate the CTR of an advertisement is the obtained by dividing the number of times a banner is shown on the website by the number of times it is clicked on.

For example, if a banner has a ratio of 20:1, it means that only one person out of every 20 people have clicked on it. In other words, only five per cent of the people who viewed the ad clicked on it.
