A Geostationary orbit is when a satellite orbits earth, always above the same area, ie. A satellite above London will always be above london. Looking at a geostationary satellite from earth, the satellite would appear to be stationary, when in fact the satellite is traveling faster than the earth is spinning,

Geostationary refers to satelites that orbit earth, they don't stay stationary in comparison to space but in comparison to earth, so if the Satellite is orbiting above London it will always be above london.
