The term sus has many different connotations. Generally, sus is accepted as a young pig. Thus, the name sus is given to a genus of pigs. Scientifically, sus is the first part of a binomial name. For example: Sus barbatus and Sus cebifrons. It is classified under the family Suidae. Thus, any member of the family Suidae when young is termed as sus. It has short legs, hooves, cartilaginous snout and bristly hair. The parts of these animals that used as food are also called sus.

SUS can be an acronym for Single UNIX Specification. It could also be Microsoft Software Update Services. SUS also stands for State University System of Florida. There was a Sus Law in Britain. Sus connotes 'suspicion' and it permitted an officer to act on 'sus'.
