Gaudi refers to the architect from Spain who carved a name for himself as a proponent of art nouveau. He toiled mainly in Barcelona and his most acclaimed work is the façade of the Expiatory Church of the Holy Family. He was credited with producing an "equilibrium" structure of buildings that made structures stand on their own without the need to brace against any support. Many in Spain regard Gaudí as "God's Architect".
Inspired by the architect, the band called The Alan Parsons Project released an album called Gaudi. Incidentally the album was the band's last album, released in the year 1987. The opening track in the album "La Sagrada Familia," is dedicated to his best known building by the same name.
