Milo may refer to an athlete in the Greece of ancient times. He was a very powerful man and won several matches in the sport of wrestling at the prestigious Olympic Games. It has been narrated that he once hoisted a heifer on his shoulders and carried her all the way through the Olympic stadium. He then murdered her with a hard blow, and consumed her by the end of the day. According to legend, he tried to tear apart a partially split tree, but his hand got wedged in the tree and wolves ate him alive.

Milo is also the name of a Roman partisan leader. He attained the recall from the exile of Cicero as a tribune of the subjects. Spurred on by Pompey, he got a gang of people on hire to fight that of Clodius. Milo was later captured and murdered in Italy.
