The term 'the laid' is not used as an idiom or any phrase but in future the term may be used to convey a particular idea. Separately, both the words can convey a different meaning and the conjugation of them certainly can convey something.

'The' is a term that is used as an article to convey the idea of being something which is definite and the word 'laid' is used as a past tense of the term 'lay' which conveys the idea of putting something in a particular position. The combination of both these words might describe somebody who is being put in a particular position.

From various meanings of the word 'lay' it may convey some body is put on bed to sleep with somebody or sometimes the wood that is used to light a fire can also be called 'the laid'.

The word laid is the past participle and past tense of the word lay. Lay has a number of meanings including to cause to lie down, to put or set down, to put up or against, to impose something as a punishment or burden, to wager or bet, to produce an egg and deposit it etc.

Laid can mean to lay something down according to some pre thought of plan or design. It can in this way be said to be a synonym of set. An example of its use in this way is "The precious stones were laid in intricate patterns into the masonry and the Taj Mahal shone with brilliance". In a very vulgar form it can be said to mean sexual intercourse as in "Jodie got laid today".
