The word intrusive is an adjective and it refers to something that is very noticeable and direct and most of the times it conveys the idea of something disturbing and annoying. The following sentence can make the meaning clear as it is context that is the best way to make somebody understand something: When John is at home the presence of Jemima is considered as an intrusive one as he neither likes her nor she is a part of his family.

The word is considered to share the same root as that of intruder and intrusion as both the words convey almost the same idea as that of intrusive. The difference is in the use as one signifies a person and another one a phenomenon.
