The word chronicles in its plural form signifies only two books of Old Testament; one of them is called I Chronicles and another one is called II Chronicles. But when you remove the letter 's' from the word the scope for the use of the word get widened.

The word chronicles conveys a written record of events in the order in which they happened. You can find various derivatives also that have their origin in the word chronicle. You can use the term chronological for the date wise arrangement of some events. The order of events itself is called chronology.

Sometimes when you find that is somebody is mentally quite agile even after old age you can say about the parson that he is defying his chronological age.
