A foreman is a person appointed to oversee the work of a group of workers. A foreman is usually a leader or someone in charge of such a group. One usually witnesses the presence of a foreman in the construction industry or a factory. The synonyms of the word are boss, foreperson, forewoman, manager, supervisor, superintendent, director, head etc. The spokesperson or a foreperson of the jury is also known to be a foreman.

There are many famous people who have had the word "Foreman" as their last name.
