Berth is term most commonly used for settling boats inside a harbour. Berth also has another meaning – bed inside a boat. There is another meaning to word 'Berth' a verb, which denotes putting a floating vessel or boat to Berth.

Berths vary in sizes as per the vessels that use them. They are found in specific sizes as per the vessels that use them, ranging from 5-10 meters for a small boat to about 400 meters for larger ones. A berth is usually found along a 'jetty', which is a large port or a 'pontoon' -- a smaller harbour. Berth is also a term used for bunk beds built inside boats, yatches, submarines or any sailing vessels where space is minimum.
