Anticyclonic is a weather phenomenon and it describes a condition where there is a descending movement of air and on the part of the earth that is affected by this movement you can find a high pressure area.

The anticyclones are composed mainly of warm and dry air and mostly situated over North Atlantic Ocean through out the year. This type of anticyclones can be watched on the weather charts above the height of five kilometres. They are mostly described as semi permanent.

Like most of the phenomena anticyclones also has different kind of names in different parts of the world. In Europe the phenomenon is called Azores high while in the United States of America people know it with the name of Bermuda high.
