'To drip' as a verb, meaning 'to descend in drops'. For instance, when we say "the water is dripping from the overhead ceiling," we imply that water is falling down in the form of drops. As a noun, 'drip' refers to drip irrigation used in gardening and agriculture. Drip irrigation refers to an irrigation method to continuously water the roots of plants, through a network of emitter, tubes, pipes and valves.

Drip is also a continuous procedure of giving a solution intravenously (administration of liquids directly into the vein), one drop at a time. DRIP is also an acronym for Dividend Reinvestment Plan that lets investor reinvest their cash dividends by buying an extra amount of shares as per the dividend payment rate.
