The term ergo according to the Latin language means "therefore". Ergo was even the name of a well known student run newspaper, found in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

It was circulated and staffed by natives from various other colleges in the Boston region even, mainly Harvard University and Boston University. The paper was started in the year 1969 as a conservative-libertarian substitute to the often communalist learner activism that was widespread during that period. It was distributed on Wednesdays, and generated support from advertising, contribution and subscription.

Over the next few years Ergo started focusing in a more openly libertarian direction and its editorial strategy became more vividly aligned with objectivism. Its matter started comprising of local as well as national political issues. Writer for Ergo included Robert Bidinottoa and for a small period Simson Garfinkel.
