Sanctus is basically a Latin word, which in English means Holy. It is the name of a hymn that holds very high importance in Christian liturgy. The Church, which is a Roman Catholic Church anywhere around the world, generally sings or recites the Sanctus during the time of the Eucharistic Prayers. This prayer is usually noted as the prayers of consecration of the bread and wine. The Sanctus is usually song or recited just before the Eucharistic prayers begun. The words of the sanctus are Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of Hosts, Heaven and earth are full of your glory, Hosanna in the highest, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the Highest".
