Onondaga is the name given to a Native American people that formerly inhabited the eastern region of Finger Lakes of New York. They may also be currently found in this very area as well as in south east Ontario. It could refer to a member of this people. The Onondaga are regarded as one of the earliest members that were a part of the Iroquois confederacy. It could also refer to the Iroquoian language spoken by the Onondaga.
