Dogmatic can be defined as involving or being associated to dogma. For instance 'Aquinas wrote many dogmatic essays'. It may alternatively be defined as characterized by the assertion of beliefs or principles cannot be proved or that haven't been proved till date. It may also be denoted as alluding to or being typical of a code of beliefs or doctrine that is widely accepted as authoritative.

Dogma is an established principle, doctrine or belief that is upheld by a particular religion, organization or ideology. It generally refers to only those beliefs or doctrines that are established and are not subject to any doubt or dispute. The term has a pejorative connotation when used in matters apart from religion, in religion however it is largely used as a descriptive word. After the Enlightenment the word dogma has almost always been used with negative connotations.
