The word Cambrian refers to two concepts in the world. One of the meanings it signifies is that of an adjective term used for the things that belong to a Place named Cambria in Welsh. But there is another use of the word and this is the more famous one; it refers to a geological period that existed between 570 million to 500 million years ago.

The period is pertaining to the Paleozoic era and is significant with the presence of algae and marine invertebrates. The word also refers to the system of rocks or the sedimentary deposits found in the early Paleozoic era. This period is characterised by warm seas, desert land areas and also the rise of many of the modern animal phyla.
