First, it's spelled grammAr. An article is something that indicates which one. The articles are a, an, the. If I say "Bring me the book," I have a specific book in mind, so "the" is a definite article. If I ask for "a book," it could be just any old book, so that is an INdefinite article.

It means like something that helps the word know what you want like if I say....:)  I want that food or give me the notebook! The and that are the articles.... An, a, and the are main articles used!
But, if you ask for a notebook it could be any notebook from somewhere so its not a definite article. It's a indefinite article!:)

Thanks you 4 readin:)
