The word Grimm is made popular by the two publishers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, who were commonly known as the Brothers Grimm.

They gave the world their famous collection of German and French fairy tales for the kindergarten kids. They happened to collect and put in writing, the fairy tales which had been passed down for generations.

On December 20, 1812 they made available to the world, the first volume of the first edition which contains 86 stories. Then came the second volume with 70 stories, which was launched in 1814. Though the earlier volumes were much criticized for the reason that, they were called "Children's Tales", they were not considered as suitable for children. But barring all the criticism even today, Hansel and Gretel and Snow White stands as among the most legendary fairy tales ever written.
