A fad is like.... Sumthing that is really popular at a time: Eg, wearing a certain type of clothing, or a song thats really big at the moment, or some other kind of social happening. Fads pass with time eg: A fad of the eighties was the mullet ect.
So its something that the majority of people are interested in heaps, but will soon become bored with it after a while.. Then if they see someone sporting that past fad they'll be like "oh my god, that look I soooo old!"
