The word bacon is widely accepted to be the same in French as well and the French also called it bacon. It is also spelled in the same way as it is done in English. However according to the dictionary, there are two other words that can be used instead but the best translation still is bacon. The other two words are lard and “Bacon en tranches” which means bacon slices so he French word is also bacon.
