A person can become rational if he or she weighs the pros and cons of the situation before taking every decision in his or her life. A rational person is a person who is sane and takes decision with a cool head and is not swayed by emotional blackmail or by any sort of pressure, come what may.
A person is considered to be rational if he or she follows a consistent pattern in his or her behavioural pattern, thought process and decision making process. He or she should be able to use logical reasoning to good effect.
A person who is rational is one who is sound of judgement. Most intellectual persons are rational and are able to perform well in those activities which pertain to, are associated with or require the use of the faculty which is known as the human mind and the intelligence quotient (which is commonly abbreviated as IQ).
