Persecution is known as the constant mistreatment of an individual group by any other group. The two most common forms of persecution are Religious persecution and ethnic persecution. The other form of persecution is Political persecution. However there are some overlaps between these terms.

One of the most commonly observed scenarios in persecution is that of a majority group persecuting a minority group. Since the minority groups won't be able to retaliate. However an exceptional group is that of the Apartheid which is located in South Africa.

There are numerous possibilities of for the origin of persecution. Many members of various ethnic groups and religious groups can name at least more than one incident when their group was persecuted by other majority groups.
