Morale basically is an expression for the capability of people to preserve belief in a society or a goal, or even in you or others. The expression is applied predominantly to military personnel and even to associates of sports teams. It is not relevant in business and in any other managerial circumstance, mainly in times of pressure or argument. In spite the vague nature of morale, material issues can have an effect on it. A soldier who has clean clothes, sufficient amount of food and shelter from incoming fire is clearly going to have a superior sense of him than the one who has dirty clothes, is starving and uncovered.

In place of work, morale is counted more of a personal thing than something calculated by departments.

Morale, is how you feel within a certain area of life. Within a team, if the morale is low then the team is down.
