The term 'hydraulic' is used usually for liquid that moves through a pipe or a kind of conduit. The following sentence can make the meaning quite clear as it is used in the context: It is hydraulic oil that is making it possible to send oil to various destinations in cost effective way. In the abovementioned sentence the pressure is being applied from a source and it is enabling the oil to move in a pipeline and various other destinations are receiving the oil from the pipe.

The word not only describes the fluid but also the process through which the fluid is being forced and the whole system itself is called hydraulic engineering.

In the changed format the word is being used as an adverb also and the term used is 'hydraulically'.
