What Does Nas Mean?

Nas is the short form to the very well known American rapper and producer, Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones. He came into this world on 14th September, 1973 and in his later years came to be known as Nasty Nas. He is the son of the well known jazz musician Olu Dara. Nas gained his popularity with his very first album in 1994, Illmatic. This album received the rating of 'the best hip-hop albums of all time.'

The LP Stillmatic is the one that rebuilt Nas credibility among his fans. With the success of Stillmatic he managed to preserve a sophisticated status in the hip hop community.
