The term cosmos is the most universal sense, a cosmos is an arranged or harmonious system. The term came from a Greek word which meant orderly arrangement. The term cosmetic even comes from the same system.

It is said that it was initially applied by Pythagoras to the Universe, perhaps from relevance to the bright firmament. The word so used is similar to a Zoroastrian word asa, which is the perception of a heavenly order or heavenly ordered creation. In theology the word can even be applied to indicate the created Universe, but not including God.

The Septuagint applies both Kosmos as well as oikumene for the colonized world. According to the Catholic theology, the term also used identically with aion to address to "worldly life" or "this world" in contrast to the afterlife.

COSMOS is a word derived from an Ancient Greek word meaning "DICTIONARY", i.e. The whole sum of the parts of the world available in language considered as an organized whole for easy reference.
