The term 'call to the bar' is a legal one and it refer to the license that entitle a lawyer to argue in court.

The term is being used in various forms but the meanings they convey are almost the same. You can use the term about a lawyer and can say that he is called to the bar, which says that he received a license to argue.

The words, even after their conjugation, do not signify anything other than their literal meanings as you can see both the meanings are just united to convey an idea.

Call is simply to call somebody and bar is a legal term that says about the place or the profession of the lawyers; and when they are used together they just convey their joint meaning.
