In other words it means of or pertaining to movement or muscular activity that is associated with mental processes, in particular affects, such as in psychomotor slowing typically associated with depression.
A related term is psychomotor retardation which reflects as a slowing down of thought which is accompanied by a decline of physical movements exhibited by an individual. It is most frequently observed in individuals suffering from clinical depression in which it signifies a degree of severity. Such psychomotor retardation is commonly seen along with psychosis. Those who suffer from this are sometimes mistakenly thought to be suffering from dementia.
