The term equilateral means having all sides equal. According to geometry, an equilateral polygon is basically a polygon which has all sides equal or of the same length.

An equilateral polygon which is generally convex and cyclic is basically a normal polygon. An equilateral triangle is generally a triangle which has edges of equal length and all equilateral are alike each other having 60 degrees angles.

Every equilateral quadrilateral is a rhombus and every n-sided polygon which has n surface of identical extent can be thought of as an equilateral. It said not each and every equilateral is of convex geometric shapes. Think that for a pentagon which has two adjoining sides can be replicated in the line segment linking two extreme vertices.
