Chant is basically some kind of rhythmic speaking or even singing of certain words or songs. They mostly referred to as reciting tones. It is also considered to be a spiritual practise, where one keeps chanting the name of God. Some of the chants in tribal cultures are Gregorian chant, Vedic chant, Jewish liturgical music (chazzanut), Qur'an reading, Baha'I chants, various Buddhist chants, various mantras, and the chanting of psalms and prayers particularly in Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Lutheran and Anglican churches. Tibetan Buddhist chant generally consist of throat singing, where numerous pitches are shaped by each recitalist. In Hindu traditions and other dharmic religions, chanting is a regular form of prayer.
