Patron means a person who gives financial or other support to a person, organisation, cause. It can also mean a distinguished person who takes an honarary position in a charity. It could also be a regular customer of a restaurant hotel etc

Patrons usually patronise Art music dance school (classical) or charities for homeless, old age homes, orphanages.

It means someone who provides financial assistance for a certain cause, it could be art, music, science, charity, educational etc.
