Muster can be most accurately defined as the gathering of military personnel for active military service. For example 'He was punished for skipping the all important muster'. However in civilian usage muster has several other meanings. It may mean gathering or bringing together. It may also be used in connection with jury duty.

Alternatively in the continent of Australia the word muster has an altogether different meaning. Here is means rounding up of all the livestock. It is most commonly used while referring to the gathering of horses by a jackaroo. In America a similar roundup is made by a cowboy.

Aggie Muster is also the name of a tradition which was started at the Texas A &M University back in the days while the institution was still a military one.
