The word concolor means to be of the same colour that is of a uniform colour. It generally means that the colour is the same throughout and there are no variations in the colour scheme. A buffalo which is entirely black would be concolor but a butterfly fish is an example of the opposite.

The puma wild cat found in most parts of the North and South American continents is called Puma Concolor. The White Fir tree found in parts of the United States is also referred to as Abies concolor. The pig tailed Langur is called the Simias concolor. Plain Flowerpecker birds are known as Dicaeum concolor. The Sooty Falcon a medium sized falcon is called as Falco concolor. Several other species of animals, plants and birds are referred to as concolor as part of their scientific names to signify the uniformity of their colour scheme.
