G6PD or Glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase is an enzyme which support red blood cells to work properly. G6PD test is done to to know activity of this enzyme in red blood cells. Objective of this test is to know the deficiency of G6PD. Its normal values are 8-8.6 units/gram of hemoglobin. Deficiency of G6PD indicate hemolotic anemia.
