"Lo" is a shortened form of the older English word "loke", which meant "look".
It is only used in the imperative, that is, as a command: "Look!".

The King James Bible uses this word frequently. The word would have probably
disappeared if it weren't for the King James Bible.

So, "Lo" means "look" in the imperative.
