There are two types of discrimination:
  • Direct discrimination
  • Indirect discrimination
Direct discrimination occurs when a person is treated less favorably than another in a comparable situation. This happens due to:
  1. Race
  2. Ethnic origin
  3. Religion
  4. Belief
  5. Disability
  6. Age
  7. Gender
Indirect discrimination on the other hand when apparently there is a neutral provision but actually it would disadvantage some people on the basis of direct discrimination. For example when a company calls for test to every class of people but conducts the test in French language.
