The word tainted is an adjective that refers to something as being effected by decay and rot. It concerns the state of ones reputation when speaking of a person more than ones physical state. Synonyms of tainted include damaged, sullied, besmirched, flyblown, spotted, tarnished and corrupt. Tainted is the adjective form of the noun taint which can refer to a moral defect or a defect in character that has moral implications. In its verb form it can also be used in a similar sense of corrupting someone morally.

"That women is tainted, you will have nothing to do with her anymore Harry" or "he felt the incident tainted his person so much that he was no longer seen in public" are examples of the word used practically in sentence structure.
