Squint is a short word for asquint. When someone looks at something with his eyes partly closed, he is said to be squinting. If you are in bright sunlight, you squint. Squinting is a continuous tense of this verb 'squint'. Squinting also means 'glancing sideways'. Looking away or askance when you disapprove of something, it is termed as squinting.

When something is said to be squinting, it is considered to have an indirect orientation or an allusion. Squint means 'to suffer from strabismus'.

Squint is a short word for asquint. Are you squinting at the screen? It means that are you looking at the screen with eyes partly closed. You do this, especially in the bright sunlight when the environment is bright and you are not able to see clearly because of the brightness. One can also do this to express his disapproval. When something squints, it shows an allusion or indirect reference to something else.

The act of squinting and also an inclination or oblique reference is termed squinting. A person who is squint-eyed is also called a squint. Squint also describes something that is slanting or leaning.
