A rogue is a deceitful unscrupulous scoundrel. In other words a rogue may refer to any idle, generally unemployed person, who is usually involved in treacherous underhanded activities. A few examples include 'The rogue pick pocketed the gentle old lady' or 'a rogue always keeps bad company'
