Harvest is a term that is most widely used in agriculture. It is a process where cultivators generally collect all the ripe crops from the fields. Harvesting of grain crops is known as reaping. Harvest generally marks the end of the maturity of a crop and the beginning of an entirely new crop. The process after post harvesting includes cooling, sorting, cleaning and packing.

Harvesting is the most physical activity of the maturity period. The farm machinery that is used for harvesting is the combine harvester. Harvest also refers to in terms of irrigation, where you have water harvesting. In water harvesting, the collection and the unwanted water is used for domestic use. The harvest time is best when the time is right or else the crops could possibly turn out to be of poor quality and yield.
