Foci is the plural form of the word 'focus'. A focus may be referred to as a point at which beams of light converge, or from where they diverge.

Focus also means the sharpness or clarity of a representation provided by an optical system. It may be used to describe the condition wherein the clarity of an image is at its maximum, as in, "in focus or out of focus."

The device or collection of devices that serves to adjust focal length of an optical scheme so as to make the image more distinct and clearer.

A focus also means the central point of one's area of interest of a kind of activity. For example, "he wants to focus on his studies at the moment".

Focus is a state wherein the issue at hand is perceived in a better way. For example, "He tried to get the dilemma into focus."

Foci is basically the plural form for focus. It is basically a point at which all the rays of light or even the radiation meet or from the point that they come into sight to deviate, as after refraction or mirror image in a visual system. It is also referred to as a point of interest as well as activity, in a way also referred to as concentration. It is basically a state in which something can be obviously detained or apparent.

In terms of geology it refers to a point of source of an earthquake. In terms of pathology it refers to an area of a restricted bodily disease or illness. In terms of mathematics it refers to a permanent tip whose connection with a directrix determines a conic part. Foci also refer to various other meanings depending on the situation as well as the term in which it is to be considered.
