My name is Keely too! :D Yeah, Keely is supposed to mean "Beauty" and apparently originated from Ireland.

I used to hate my name and wish to be called by my middle name; Jessica. But then someone told me "Why would you want to be called Jessica? Your name is beautiful and unique, Jessica is common and boring." And it's true! We honestly do have a beautiful and unique name :)

Keely is one spelling of a name that has developed in the last few decades. The last two may have some connection to the Yorkshire town of Keighley (pronounced KEETH-ley) near Haworth.

The likeliest explanation of the name Keely is that it is a modern variant of an Irish name, Keelin. This itself is an Anglicised version of a much older Irish name, the Gaelic Caoilfhionn. This comes from the two Gaelic words caol, which means "slender" and fionn, which means "white." There are several old Celtic and Gaelic names with this component, including well known names like Fiona.

Perhaps the most common spelling of the modern version is Keeley. An example is British actress Keeley Hawes.
