Rhoda means a "rose", but also, "the servant of the Lord" since she was a servant in the Bible in Acts, chapter 12. It is a beautiful story of the miraculous deliverance of Peter. As Peter goes to the house where the disciples were praying for him, a servant girl named Rhoda goes to open the door when Peter knocks. In her excitement, she does not open the door, but runs in to tell the others who told her she is out of her mind, until they heard Peter knocking continuously and then they were all comforted by seeing him.
