I wouldn't be so sure about that. Just because it sounds similar to the name of the town Milan doesn't mean that it originated from it. It's an old Slavic name still used in countries such as Czechia, Slovakia, Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia. It comes from a male name MILAN, and means 'beloved'. In Poland Milana, Milena and Milan have their name's day on 18 June.

NO, that's not true! Just because the name is similar to this town's name doesn't mean that it originated from it. In fact, it's an old Slavic name still used in countries such as Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Czechia and Slovakia. It comes form a male name Milan and means "beloved", "precious one". In Poland Milana, Milena and Milan have even their name's day on 18 June. The city in Italy bears this name but it originates from a different source.
