Hate is a very strong word that people use when the are very angry with a circumstance or person and they don't know how to properly explain themselves so they often use the term hate, for example: 'I hate you!' or 'I hate this' Etc.
Hate is a very strong word,so when most people say it they usually don't mean it completely because hate is a very strong thing,
Here are some examples:
Hitler hated the jews.
We can almost honestly say that because he did try to wipe out that specific population.
Hitler is almost the only person I can link the word hate to because his actions prove his feelings,
Hitler was a sick man so it would be understandable for him to openly use the word "hate" when talking about Jews.
That is what hate means, hope I could some it up for you, if you are trying to explain 'hate' to a child use sentences like " I hate means: You never loved me, you want me to die, and you don't like me at all."
It is very hard to explain the word hate to a child because they have never felt close to hating someone.
Good luck explaining and I hope this helps.
