Classical is an adjective obtained form the word classic. When something is said to be classical, that thing is based on or belongs to a traditional style and has a traditional set of ideas. This word is generally made use of in art, or science. For example, the theme involves classical physics instead of quantum physics'. Another example would be, the lamp is a piece of art done in a classical Chinese style'.

Classical is generally related to language, literature, music, dance et cetera especially of ancient Greece and Rome. For Example, 'Michael received a classical education'. Here classical denotes that Michael received an education which includes the study of Latin and Greek. The word classical is also used in relation to classical music. It means that this music was written in the European tradition approximately between 1750 and 1830. 'He gifted her cassette of classical songs'.
